Yes, I admit the fact that "Den of Thieves" cannot match up to the standard of the well-made "Heat. However, I want to mention that " Den of Thieves" does have an intriguing / interesting enough story, if you pay full attention while watching it. The plot is quite thrilling actually ; there are enough plot twists to be enjoyed. Additionally, you are guaranteed to be either surprised or shocked by one particular character"s actual motives and actions in this film.
All the actors in the movie have done a good job in terms of their performances. Gerard Butler plays the "Big Cop" investigating the heist.
Pablo Schreiber plays the "Mastermind - Thief" for the entire Den of thieves.
I feel director Christian Gudegast has done a good enough job by providing various plot twists to enjoy for intelligent viewers. I would love to become a story-writer for movies because I have developed some very special story concepts that will be loved by majority of the viewers and the critics also.

The movie had a generic script, but the cinematography and editing of action sequences are spot on. A lot of obvious Heat references but good job nevertheless.
